Street lighting out and overhanging trees, 23rd November

Hi please pass these complaints to the relevant Departments

3 lights are out on the path known as Audley Linear Park and also across the bridge on St Mary's wharf side 1 light at least is not working. This area is now very dark and as it is a wooded path without these lights on is very dangerous. In the past it has taken several phone calls over a period of months to get the lights fixed. I was promised by the Council last time (by a colleague of Wendy Penkethman) that any lights out in this area would be treated as high priority.

There is also a cherry tree and a silver birch along the Audley Linear path which overhangs my property that is in urgent need or pruning or removal - please note the silver birch in particular may in strong winds blow down into my property and will cause considerable damage.

Loose rubbish bags left, 15th November

Three open rubbish bags where left on Thursday 13th November 08 by the refuge collectors, presumably because they where not in a bin. They are beginning to stink and attract vermin now and I would like them moved.

Cul-de-sac, problems turning car around, 12th November

As we live in a cul-de-sac, we ar experiencing problems every day, where we are unable to turn our car round in the turning circle due to people parking in the designated turning area and because there are no specific signs or yellow lines marked on the road, people just assume they can park their vehicle there and are causing havoc every day which is regularly leading to road rage incidents.

Where so I start?, 7th September

The canal bridge (102) has been damaged - this has been reported by myself and other residents. The area never gets a good clean up.
The area is known as Audley Linear Park to but not have the same consessions parks do - the area is overgrown and messy. We have a drink problem in the area all ages in 3 locations - the Police are aware of it but I was told years ago by a Police Officer that they were OK with the area to be used for drinking as 'its better happening there than on street corners' - out of sight etc. We were promised a clean up - extra lighting and the existing lights painted by the Council 2 years ago - this has never happened - a violent rape occured here a few months ago - hardly suprising due to the state of the area. I have rung the Council on numerous occasions but I'm just ignored - where does my Council tax actually go? - it's dure not in this area.

Irresponsible parking, 14th August

Briarcroft has become more and more subject to parking on the road and pavement. This includes "white vans" and large 4x4's. This is creating problems for the various refuse collection vehicles and even for family sized cars that need to navigate Briarcroft. The average number of vehicles per household is 2+ and, although all houses have parking space, people seem to prefer to park on the road. It is fairly obvious that any large vehicle such as a Fire Engine could not get through this congection.

Uneven, cracked footpaths and weed problems, 6th August

The pavements on the south side of Ainsdale avenue are a disgrace. The paving flags are uneven, cracked, but most unsightly is teh number of weeds growing through. This combined with the terrible state of the grass verges makes it a real eyesore.

Verge needs attenion, 4th April

The verge on Ainsdale Avenue needs urgent attention due to skip lorries, vans & refuse collection lorries driving over it, and tearing it up. The verge needs repairing in numerous places and I think metal bollards should be erected (like at the bottom of Ainsdale adjacent to the police station). This is a recent problem (12-18 months) and is due to lazyness of drivers rather than their ability to pass vehicles slowly & carefully. There has been little problem in the 12 years preceeding this that I've lived here.
