Poorly Maintained House, 2nd December

A couple of flats have remained empty for many years. They are poorly maintained and attract rubbish, encourage patrons of the social club to urinate and being boarded up generally lowers the value of neighbouring properties.I was under the impression the council had powers to encourage landlords to maintain their property in a satisfactory condition or force the owner to sell it. Is that not the case?

Property on west side of Maughan street has rubbish in bags accumulating on roof of extension (dumped from upstairs flat?) Downstairs property has broken windows and appears abandoned.

Rubbish in backlane, 30th September

Waste left in backlane after refuse collection including bagged rubbish to rear of properties on Union St and a carpet tube to the rear of properties on Maughan St.

We daily get the Streetcare team only picking up rubbish outside the shops on Briardale Road - the opposite side of the street (and the rest of that side) is a disgrace as there are NEVER teams cleaning the rest of the pavement along the strret. Rubbish is blown into everyone's gardens and there is only one useable rubbish bin in the street anyway. Can you find out why the cleaning team is only clearing one small area instead of the entire street?

Local residents are using open yard of empty house as a personal rubbish tip which is attracting vermin. The waste needs to be cleared and the building secured to stop this from happening again.

The amount of dog muck in the park at Nelson village is a disgrace, I take my grandchildren tere but make them wear their wellies

Over hanging tree, 25th July

The tree next to my property is overhanging my roof and touching property. I require it to be trimmed to avoid damage and gutters being blocked. I have reported problem to council twice but have yet to get a response.

Dumped conifers, 17th July

A large quantity of conifers have been dumped over the back fence from the garden of a house on Yardley Grove.

Dumped Patio doors, 10th June

Two patio doors have been dumped at this location and the double-glazed sealed units have been smashed. The broken glass is very dangerous to the children who play in this area.

Shanklea school dangerous playground, 9th June

After building work to increase capacity. the playground at Shanklea school is currently too small for the pupils. The children are no longer able to play or run playing tuggy, First aid levels and accidents have increased. The school have been asked to undertake risk assessments but they say its inappropriate, the head teacher appears impotent. The area where the prefabs were is over grown and hazzardous. The Every Child Matters outcomes say children should be safe (not at shanklea from childhood accidents) enjoy and achieve (not at playtime)be healthy (no exercise )Obviously the school and LEA are not following governmemt guidance issued to safeguard and promote the welfare of children (sections 10, 11 of the Children Act 2004. Its a disgrace the LEA is selling the land from closing schools and pocketing the difference without supporting children or keeping them safe. There are many parents unhappy but scared to speak up and are unsure what to do as they have spoken to the head teacher and got no where.

The mess from the Brockwell takeaways is now spread along the cycle path for about 400 yards this has been reported but the council that takes £1400 council tax every year. however the council refuses to clear up the mess as it is not on the pavement, and is not there resposibility. Obviously it has blow off the smooth pavements into the hedgerows, rats infest the hedgerows and are seen in large numbers. The council in not attemting to undertake any work in this are not fulfilling their responsibilies and I would be surprised if they tidied up.

The person who lives in the house with the flag on it has dumped a very large quantity of conifers in a pleasant grove of trees50 yards west of his home

After a year and a number of phone calls( strangely not all of them logged by council, I have been told) the rubbish and trees have been removed. Two days before local elections.

Branches of a large shrub/bush, 22nd April

The owners of a house on Underwood Grove have cut the branches from a large shrub or bush growing in their garden and dumped the resultant waste onto the field behind their garden.

Garden refuse/conifer branches, 22nd April

One of the residents of Porlock Court has trimmed large branches from a conifer in his or her back garden and dumped them next to the path by the school. It is obvious where the branches have been cut from.

The hedgerows at the North of the playing fields running East for 300 metres from the spot indicated to are full of discarded beer cans,and other assorted discarded rubbish and needs clearing up
