This is because it is the end of a tarred road going into bush. The tarmac is breaking up and the litter accumulates and this generates fly tipping. We have a pile of carpet tiles now dropped off on the 20/05/08. The one meter width cut is not adequete when the verge is alot wider than this. The resulting situation makes the whole asthetics at the side of the road look very poor, untidy and unkept when compared to a many number of verges in Nottinghamshire district where they will cut greater than the one meter width. Early this year the road was resurfaced and if the verges were cut better then this would greatly improve the asthetic environment along this stretch of road. To cut the extra width would not take any extra resources only to deploy the wider cutting deck during the pass. Many thanks for your help. Grass verge from The populars up to East Parade. The grass verge (on the school side)is overgrown and the nettles are high that it is difficult when travelling along the road to see chidren waiting at the crossing point/enterence to the primary school. This occurs when you are travelling up Station Road heading towards the village centre. If the verge was cut and the nettles were chopped down the line of vision for the motorist would be much improved to see a child waiting at the crossing point so that you can anticipate that they may cross. Tidying up the verge would also make a considerable asthetic improvement.
