Overgrown path, 29th August

Between Graig y Bedw and the street below Gorse Terrace there
is an interconnecting path. The path is accessed via a series of steps. Both path and steps are perennially overgrown causing inconvenience and danger.Inthe recent past occupants of Gorse Terrace have cleared the overgrowth although we feel this should be Caerphilly CB Council's responsibility.A neighbour contacted the council to request help but was rebuffed, the excuse being that they didn't believe it was their land.Someone obviously constructed the stone steps and it would seem to be only a matter of time before someone is hurt.

One way system, 28th August

Due to parking on both sides of cotswold way you have to travel in the centre of the road. If you are traveling up the hill and a bus is coming down(at speed might i add) you have nowhere to go i have had several very close encounters with bus's and other traffic a one way system would rectify this problem before anyone gets hurt.

Dirt bikes on Eglywsilan Common, 27th May

Sunday, 25 May 2008, 3 to 5 pm
I parked my car at the north end of Eglywsilan Common and went for a walk. A minimum of three dirt bikes were zooming around the Common, nearly knocking me down at the Trig Point (Bwlch Carn-y-Gelli) -- very dangerous because there was thick fog. When I returned to my vehicle, it had been heavily sprayed with mud and rocks, presumably kicked up by the dirt bikes' spinning tyres. The left front indicator was smashed, my windscreen was peppered with chips, and my bonnet suffered bad dents and scrapes (to the bare metal). The sign on the Common prohibits all motor vehicles on the Common, but this is blatantly ignored. This is a very dangerous situation, and it has caused significant damage to my car.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Rat-run, 24th February

The back lane from the top of the Hendredenny estate to Abertridw is used as a peak hour rat-run by driver trying to avoid the Bowls roundabout. There are blind bends, often walkers and horse riders on the lane as well as legitimate residents traffic from Hendredenny Uchaf and Hendredenny Ganol. One resident was recently involved in a head-on crash involving 2 young men in a car which, police estimate was travelling in excess of 40mph at the point of impact! The lane is often used by youngsters on quad and dirt bikes for what appears to be speed trialing. The lane is in a de-restricted speed zone, there are no warning signs ad to the potential dangers and no traffic calming measures. Sooner or later someone is going to be seriously injured, or worse. Residents of properties accessed from this lane call for immediate traffic calming measures such as a 20mph speed limit, warning signs alerting drivers to collision risks or preferably, the total prohibition of through traffic from using this lane as a short-cut at all times.
