A minimum of three dirt bikes were zooming around the Common, nearly knocking me down at the Trig Point (Bwlch Carn-y-Gelli) -- very dangerous because there was thick fog. When I returned to my vehicle, it had been heavily sprayed with mud and rocks, presumably kicked up by the dirt bikes' spinning tyres. The left front indicator was smashed, my windscreen was peppered with chips, and my bonnet suffered bad dents and scrapes (to the bare metal). The sign on the Common prohibits all motor vehicles on the Common, but this is blatantly ignored. This is a very dangerous situation, and it has caused significant damage to my car. There are blind bends, often walkers and horse riders on the lane as well as legitimate residents traffic from Hendredenny Uchaf and Hendredenny Ganol. One resident was recently involved in a head-on crash involving 2 young men in a car which, police estimate was travelling in excess of 40mph at the point of impact! The lane is often used by youngsters on quad and dirt bikes for what appears to be speed trialing. The lane is in a de-restricted speed zone, there are no warning signs ad to the potential dangers and no traffic calming measures. Sooner or later someone is going to be seriously injured, or worse.
